The Social Problem

Our client in the aviation industry was looking to differentiate their brand and stand out as a prominent flight school in Canada. Wanting to get into social media, our client was unsure about how social media worked and if it was worth their time and resources. It was important to reach an international fan base and increase student sign-ups for flight training. 

The Fix

After extensive social research we discovered that our client already had an extremely passionate and un-tapped fan base. We used special moments in a pilot’s training to engage students, friends, and family to significantly grow their fans and improve their overall social engagement. By leveraging their fan base along with their strongest proposition as Canada’s #1 flight school we were able to ultimately generate more flight school sign ups.

The Power of Facebook

Through our test and learn approach we identified Facebook as the most important to their social media strategy. Facebook now has 3 times as many fans as other platforms.

Using and sharing that magic moment in a pilots training – a picture after their first solo flight or the moment they graduate allowed us to reach and engage with a greater amount of our clients fan base.

We found that our clients fan base best responded to and engaged with posts about top tips for pilots, articles to inspire pilots, cool technology and sharing what is happening around the airport.

The Results

Our aviation client has seen a 450% increase in monthly traffic coming from social media and 9X the fans. Most importantly social media now accounts for over 38% of their total leads.
